Welcome back, farmhands. Today I wanted to talk about the various DC projects I have in the works this year and also try and tease some coming storylines and unannounced books…
JUSTICE SOCIETY of AMERICA
Our current big opening storyline RAGNAROK was designed to feel like a “classic” JSA comic. I was really trying to capture the feeling of Geoff Johns early 2000’s run mixed with the Infinity Inc. and All-Star Squadron series I loved as a kid.
This opening story is a big one, it will span the first 12 issues of the series. BUT, I will take a time-out with Issue 8 to do a “Times Past” one-off set in 1945. That one will be drawn by Gavin Guidry.
Here’s some of Gavin’s incredible inks from that issue
After the Ragnarok I’m planning a series of shorter character pieces and them on to the next big epic around issue 15 or so.
ABSOLUTE FLASH!
Over the last year or so, I’ve been working with Scott Snyder, Kelly Thompson, Deniz Camp, Al Ewing, and Jason Aaron on building DC’s new Absolute Universe. In March the next wave of books launches and ABSOLUTE FLASH will be among them. The book is drawn by Nick Robles and colored by Adriano Lucas.
I am also scripting a top secret story set in the Absolute Universe to be announced very soon.
Above is Nick’s stunning cover to issue 2, and here a 5 ABSOLUTE FLASH FACTS …
Absolute Flash stars a 15-year-old Wally West.
Barry Allen will play a role. Just not the one you may anticipate.
Grodd may be the secret star of the series.
Wally West is the first and only Flash in this universe.
The speed force may not exits in the Absolute Universe.
MORE DC BOOKS?!
I have a couple other DC projects in the works. One is a 3-issue mini-series drawn by Dustin Nguyen that will be announced in a few weeks. It will launch in April. Here is a tease of that project…a detail from my own variant cover for #1…
And my other DC book is just in the planning stages and will likely be a Fall launch.
So, that’s it for this week. See you all soon.

Sure I'm late and you are beyond busy to respond but wondered what Marvel character would interest you? You've done a lot of DC work and not as much Marvel, being a DC guy myself, happy you are focused on DC universe but was interested in what character you would like to write/draw on that side of the fence
Nice! LOVE that you are doing a Times Past issue of JSA. So great to hear you are soaking in the early 2000's Johns run as well as All-Star Squadron and Infinity Inc! Golden. I have officially added Absolute Flash to my pulls as of this post. It looks and sounds amazing. Thanks!
