Hello Farmhands!
Been a while since I’ve had the time to post updates, apologies, been a busy month or so in the studio as finished up artwork on Fishflies #5 and started writing scripts for two brand-new projects!
The first of these new projects is my next collaboration with Dustin Nguyen after the completion of Little Monsters last month! I want to thank everyone who supported the book, and followed along with the adventures of Romie, Billy, Vickie, Bats, Lucas and Yui. Dustin and I had a blast creating the world, and I’ll miss those kids But who knows, maybe one day we’ll go back and see what happens to them after another hundred years or so.
So what will my next project with Dustin be? You’ll have to wait to find out, as that book likely won’t be ready until next year, but it’s going to be very different from Descender, Ascender and Little Monsters and we are really excited about it.
The second new project I’ve been writing is a brand new Black Hammer series. Now, we recently officially announced the mini-series, Black Hammer: The End coming in August. And that book will be the ending of the “farm” storyline and characters. This new book will be a brand new start for the Black Hammer Universe, with a whole new direction. It’s too soon to talk about any more details on that, so instead, here’s Malachi Ward’s amazing warp-around cover for Issue #6 of BH: The End!
In addition to these new projects, I am continuing to work on the ever-expanding horror universe, The Bone Orchard Mythos with co-creator Andrea Sorrentino. Our next series, TENEMENT comes out later this month and it will be the longest and most immersive Bone Orchard book so far. This will be a 10-issue series that begins to tie together all the elements we’ve laid down so far.
Here’s a look at some of the alternate covers for issue #1 by Tradd Moore, Christian Ward and Martin Simmons!
As for Fishflies, the first issue drops in July. It will be 64-pages both written and drawn by me. The series will be published bi-monthly with these extra-sized issue.
Here’s a first look at some of the artwork from Issue 4!
You can ask your local comic book store to reserve you a copy of Issue #1 now. Every one of these pre-orders really helps the book, so I appreciate any support!
And, finally, I was nominated for an EISNER AWARD this year for MAZEBOOK in the Best Reprint Graphic Album category. And the book’s designer, Tom Muller was also nominated for his book design! So, if you are eligible, please vote!
Thanks everyone, have a safe and happy summer. See you soon!
Jeff
I will be reading every one of these. Also, can’t wait for that inevitable Little Monsters Deluxe Edition 😉
That Mazebook hardcover is amazing in person, I love mine. Hope you win! It looks great next to my OA from the series. Thanks for the updates and keep up the great work Jeff!
