Welcome back to The Farm. Been a busy Winter here and Spring looks to be even busier as the Essex County TV show is finally getting ready to kick into pre-production for it to shoot this Summer. So, I have been working hard on the scripts and we are currently in the casting process.
I’ll be updating you all more on the Essex TV show as we get deeper into production, but for now, let’s get into the various comics projects I’m working on at the moment…
LITTLE MONSTERS
Little Monsters #1 launched this past month to great response. Thanks to everyone who picked it up and who pre-ordered the book. I have been writing Little Monsters this past month or so and just finished the script for issue #8. Dustin is currently drawing #4.
Some of you have asked how many issues Little Monsters will be? The truth is that I am still not 100% sure. Right now I have the series plotted out to be 12-issues, but that could change as I get deeper into the scripts and new ideas take root. So, if sales and reader response are there, it could expand. But it will definitely be at least 12 issues.
I thought I’d share some artwork that hasn’t been seen yet. So here for the first time are Dustin’s covers for issues #4 and #5!
THE BONE ORCHARD
This May Image’s Free Comic Book Day comic will be the prelude to my new shared horror universe of books with Andrea Sorrentino, The Bone Orchard Mythos. Then in May, we launch with our first hardcover graphic novel The Passageway.
Andrea and I have been going back and forth via email a lot these past couple of months as we continue to share ideas and build the mythology that will underpin all the books. Things are starting to really take shape and we’ve been laying down ideas for our second wave of books for 2023 and 2024. It’s a little early to reveal anything about those, but here for the first time is a sneak peek at artwork from our second Bone Orchard book, Ten Thousand Black Feathers, a five-issue mini-series that will launch in September.
OTHER COMICS!
In addition to The Bone Orchard and Little Monsters, I am also working on a new project with the amazing Gabriel Walta. We are launching this series in November. Can’t wait to share more about this one, but here is a tease of artwork from Issue 1.
And, another exciting development, this past week I have been talking to my Plutona and Cthu-Louise collaborator, Emi Lenox about reuniting on a brand-new project as well! So, more on that soon!
BLACK HAMMER UNIVERSE
Obviously, The Last Days of Black Hammer will continue to be published right here each week, and Black Hammer Reborn is reaching its climax in comic shops each month. Here is some amazing new art from Caitlin Yarsky for issue #12…
Black Hammer Reborn will feed into 2023’s big new series Black Hammer: The End which is the culmination of everything I have been doing in the Black Hammer Universe these past couple of years. But, despite its title, that will not be “the end” of Black Hammer. I have several other projects percolating, one of which will launch right here in a couple more weeks! More details on that new book coming in early April.
It occurred to me recently that many of you may not be aware that we have Black Hammer apparel available for sale! There are t-shirts, sweaters, and more available right here:
Okay, that’s all the news here on The Farm. See you back here soon for the next installments of Last Days of Black Hammer, Fishflies and more!

Everything here looks great! I love how that monster looks in the Gabriel Walta panels and I'm excited to hear that you're working with Emi again.
So glad to hear Black Hammer will continue. Just read Little Monsters and it was spectacular.
